Alcoba de La Torre
A municipality located at an altitude of 908 meters above sea level. It has 2.16 hectares of vineyard with bushed vines over 80 years old. Located in the district of "El Villar". The soils are sandy-loam and clay-loam.
Alcubilla de Avellaneda
A municipality located at an altitude of 926 metres above sea level. It has 1.2 hectares of vineyard with bush vines over eighty years old, which are trained goblet-style, providing an excellent microclimate for the ripening process. The vineyard is located in the district of "La Lomera". Here we find sandy and sandy loam soils.
Alcozar
A municipality located at 902 metres above sea level. It has an old vineyard distributed in small plots located in the "Fuente Herrero" and "Los Arroyos" districts, a total of 3.7 hectares, spur pruned and arranged according to the goblet training system, as well as 5.5 hectares of new trellised vineyards around fifteen years old. A further half hectare has recently been added.
Alcubilla del Marqués
A municipality located at an altitude of 903 metres above sea level. It embraces a large number of small plots of old vineyards over a hundred years old, all bush vines, goblet trained and scattered over various localities, such as "Valdecastillo" "El Esquilado" and "La Serna" - a total of 12 hectares. The youngest vineyard is situated in the district of “la Verguilla" where the vines are trellised, a total of nine hectares in all. Its mineral-rich soils give these wines their characteristic aromas and balance.
Aldea de San Esteban
A municipality located at 865 metres above sea level. It has two hectares of over eighty-year-old vineyards of bush vines trained goblet-style and distributed in small plots located in the district of "Las Lomas".
Atauta
A municipality located at an altitude of 960 metres above sea level which provides its wines with unique characteristics. The grapes from this high mountainous terrain receive greater solar radiation and a higher thermal range which favours a slow ripening process and consequently wines of great personality.
In this municipality we find vineyards over a hundred years old distributed in small plots and all pruned in the goblet system – a total of 15 hectares located in the districts of "El Almendro", "Huerta Benito", "San Juan", "Valdegatiles" and "La Solana", among others.
There is a great diversity of soils here with a predominance of sandy-loam soils giving wines their very characteristic freshness, which combined with barrel ageing, produces wines of great personality and distinctly fruity nuances.
There are also twelve hectares of new trellised vineyards with a drip irrigation system located mainly in the "Bodegas del Plantío" area.
Bocigas de Perales
A municipality located at 913 metres above sea level. It has 1.4 hectares of old vineyards spread over the localities of "El Rebollar" "Llano la Sol" and "Molillas". These bush vines are more than a hundred years old and trained according to the goblet system. Sandy soils predominate, giving rise to a faster ripening process and aromatic wines. It also has a little over half a hectare of new trellised vineyards.
Ines
A municipality located at 905 metres above sea level. There are three hectares of vineyards with vines over a hundred years old. They are trained in the goblet system and distributed in small vineyards of no more than 200 square meters in several districts, including "La Cuna", "Peñacín", "El Cascajar" and "Los Arenales". Soils here are sandy and do not hold water well; they are poor in organic matter and produce warm, rounded wines with lots of aromatic nuances. It also has a hectare and a half of new trellised vineyards located in "Las Eras".
Langa
A municipality located at 845 metres above sea level. In the districts of "El Carrascal" and "El Val" we find various vineyard plots mostly around 20 years old - a total of 10 hectares where the vines are both spur- and cane pruned. In the same districts we find an additional 2 hectares of old vines distributed in small vineyards where the bush vines are subjected to goblet-style spur pruning.
Matanza de Soria
A municipality located at 914 metres above sea level. In the districts of "Viña Arriba", "Las Laderas" and "El Potón" lie several centennial vineyards arranged in very small plots, totalling 6 hectares. Here we find a great diversity of soils particularly sandy-loam soils and on some plots clay soils with considerable capacity for the retention of water and nutrients, producing elegant wines with great structure since the ripening cycles are longer and a greater density of polyphenols is obtained during this lengthy ripening process.
Miño
A municipality located at 942 metres above sea level; it has nine hectares of centennial vineyards trained in the goblet system within the districts of Hoya de los Conejos, Los Arenales and La Rebollosa. There is a great diversity of soils, predominantly sandy loam and clay soils that produce wines with an abundance of natural aromatic extracts, with rich, deep colouring and plenty of depth.
There are another 5 hectares of young vineyards here. These are 15 years old planted with spreading vines, all goblet-trained, producing fresh wines with elegant, fruity aromas.
Olmillos
A municipality located at 877 metres above sea level. Here we find vineyards generally around 20 years old, a total of nine hectares trained in both the traditional goblet system as well as trellised in the district of “Hermita de San Hipólito" (the Hermitage of Saint Hippolyte), so-called after the neighbouring monastery dedicated to Saint Hippolyte. Here the soil is mainly limestone with an abundance of calcium salts.
Pedraja en San Esteban
A municipality located at 754 meters above sea level, with two hectares of centennial vineyards where the bush vines are goblet-trained, within plots of about 100 vines each; these are to found in the district known in the area as "La Francia" (France).
Peñalba de San Esteban
A municipality located at 876 metres above sea level; in the districts of "La Erilla" and "Espartera" we find 3.8 hectares of vineyards with centennial strains all trained in the goblet system. There is a wide diversity of soils here with a predominance of sandy loam and clay loam soils.
Quintanilla de Tres Barrios
A municipality located at 930 metres above sea level. It has 7 hectares of centennial vineyards distributed in small plots located in the districts of "La Alpargatera", "La Morera" and "El Guijoso". The soils in these districts are, generally speaking, deep and calcareous, with good permeability. The lack of organic matter in some of the plots, in addition to the rich limestone content, sometimes leads to a surface crust on the vines characteristic of the area.
Rejas
A municipality located at 873 metres above sea level. In the areas of "El Centenar" and "El Carpio" there several relatively small vineyards with vines of over 100 years old over a total surface area of 4.5 hectares. In the district of "La Muñeca" we find the younger vineyards with espalier trellising and larger plots giving a combined total of 7 hectares.
Soils of deep calcareous rock give plenty of mineral overtones to the grape.
San Esteban de Gormaz
A municipality situated at an altitude of 859 metres above sea level. It has one centennial vineyard and other vineyards around 15-25 years old. The old vineyard is divided into small plots scattered around the locality and in particular in "Valdelapila" which has a total of 6 hectares, all bush vines trained in the goblet system and creating its very own microclimate maintaining a degree of humidity and balanced temperatures. The youngest vineyards are planted both in the goblet and the espalier systems over a total area of 7 hectares.
Soto de San Esteban
A municipality situated 847 metres above sea level.
It has an area of traditional wineries with a large number of relatively small bush-vine vineyards over a hundred years old in the immediate surrounds. Acknowledging the existence of the wineries, the locality is known as "Las Bodegas". Also in the district known as "Las Veletas" we find centennial vineyards alongside much younger vineyards. In total there are six hectares of old vines and eight hectares of younger vines. Predominantly yellowish-red sandy loam and clay soils, producing delicate, fragrant wines, low in alcohol content and with a good bouquet.
Valdazo
The municipality is located 898 metres above sea level. Its almost two hectares of century-old vineyards are located in the area known as "Las Majadillas". The vines are spur pruned and trained in goblet fashion on mineral-rich soils, which give these wines their unique characteristics.
Velilla
A municipality with an altitude of 850 metres above sea level.
It has 3 hectares vineyards over a century old, most of them to be found in the area of “El Palomero" and 1.5 hectares of vineyards which are only fifteen years old and whose fruits ripen on vines planted in calcareous soil the surface of which is very light in colour and acts as a mirror reflecting the heat and light towards the plant thus favouring the maturing process.
Peñaranda
A municipality located at 852 metres above sea level. This locality is situated in the province of Burgos. It has two vineyards with a combined area of 7 hectares of vines aged 15 years, trained on trellises and growing on sandy and clay loam soils.
Zayas de Torre
A municipality located at 938 metres above sea level in which we find a plantation of two hectares of young trellis plantation vineyards only 15 years old on stony ground, which favours aeration and drainage and at night maintains the heat accumulated from the daytime sun as well as providing mineral aromas to its wines.
