These latest awards are added to the wide and varied list of national and international successes attained by both wines. The competition took place in major achievement given the scale and magnitude of the event.
On the awarded Hispanobodegas wines
Anier Vendimia Seleccionada 2015 is a limited edition wine that is elaborated from the oldest and lower yield. After the malolactic fermentation done in new French Oak barrels, the wine is aged in French Oak barrels (80%) and American (20%), new (80%) and first use for 14 months, being then rounded in the bottle for at least 12 months. Limited edition of 11,646 bottles.Bright and intense cherry red color.Great aromatic complexity, highlighting the presence of ripe fruit and mineral essences. Pleasant, velvety and balsamic ripe red fruit feeling along with elegant ripe tannins, that are rounded and perfectly integrated with a flavourful finish and a nice long aftertaste.
Valdelacierva grano a grano is the latest added wine to the winery. A special product, featuring wines that are born from the terroir, with microvinifications in large barrels differentiated by estate andageing process in French oak.In this way, only small-scale productions, which the land produces with each vintage, come onto the market. This is how Valdelacierva Grano a Grano (or grain by grain) is born; in essence it emerges from the “La Botija” estate with its own unique characteristics -a harvesting process that begins out in the estate, destemming grape by grape and grain by grain in the winery- and eventually grows into a wine.
With a very attractive dense cherry red colour, it has an intense nose of red and black fruits with milky undertones and a subtle spicy touch, characteristic of a good mature tempranillo with cocoa and toffees. A very complex wine on account of its ageing in large French oak barrels, powerful and velvety on the palate with an agreeable and inviting persistence.

Valdelacierva Grano a Grano
Valdelacierva Grano a Grano 2015, a newborn handcrafted wine destemmed grape by grape, the latest wine from the Hispanobodegas Group.
- A unique estate: “La Botija” with only one variety -Tempranillo- producing 1331 bottles.
- In keeping with the winery group’s new business approach, the Rioja winery launches a special edition: Valdelacierva Grano a Grano.
La Rioja, 27th March.-The Valdelacierva Winery, part of the Hispanobodegas Group, announces the launch of its most special wine: Valdelacierva Grano a Grano 2016. An edition of 1331 bottles from a single estate: “La Botija” situated in Baños de Ebro and with a single variety of grape: Tempranillo. The new business policy, which the Hispanobodegas Winery Group embarked upon a few years ago, has a binary goal involving two lines of business: the first, responding to the expectations of consumers looking for uncomplicated, easy to drink wines; and the second, a more special line, featuring wines that are born from the terroir, with microvinifications in large barrels differentiated by estate and an ageing process in French oak. In this way, only small-scale productions, which the land produces with each vintage, come onto the market.
It bears the simplest of labels featuring only the brand without any other distracting elements. In fact, it is the sense of touch which is the main protagonist here, playing an excellent role that in a special way portrays the sense of touching the land and all the primary elements involved in the process of creating this special vintage.
The recommended retail price is 34 euros and it is presented in 75 cl. and Magnum bottles (only 200 units).

Our wines reach importance in the TV Chinese
Without a reason to deny it, it was a real pleasure and a big satisfaction to have been able to show our “values” in the TV Chinese. Starting from the vineyards, harvest manual systems, selection of grapes in the wineries for the production (fermentation) according to places and types of ground, verification of the most modern systems of controlled fermentation, beside our dear and romantic fermentation warehouses of the era of our grandparents, which in our case we are still using and having a complete responsibility of the final result (delicious wines, as “always”). Then the barrel hall where the wine is refined and obtains marvelous aromatic shades. And of course finishing the visit with the tasting of all the before spoken of, to bring back home memories of the bouquets and flavors. We believe that they returned home satisfied of all seen and heard. And we keep on savoring our reasonable pride of “Bodegas Gormaz”.
Note: Hispano Bodegas, has its own Delegation in China. Our Ribera del Duero´s wines, outstanding the brand of 12 LINAJES, are a benchmark in this D.O. for Chinese consumers. We are taking advantage of the case to transmit our sincerest gratitude for all our team in that marvelous country.

Our oenologist of La Rioja travels to Mexico
She took part in several didactic tastings and pairing dinners with different kind of public (directors, managers and waiters) where she helped them to know a little more the wines that they have in their restaurants, the elaboration, the different aromas that the winemaker sensed, the different tastes of each wine, etc. Emma learnt a lot too, as she claimed.
Emma,Our oenologist, returned from Mexico very happy and grateful for the attention and the treatment received in all and each one of the restaurants where she was (Carolo, Zapote, Blanco Colomina, Buena Barra, La Glotonerie, Sylvestre, RestauranteRoseta, Restaurante Eloise en Roma, the J&G and the Galia Chef), and particularly the team of Trinergia Vinos, with Rodolfo at the head; she mentioned: “They have changed my concept about the city and about the wine project. They have made me be more enthusiastic if it is possible, with the desire to go on improving, with the concern to extract the excellence of excellence. Seeing how they believe in the wines and especially how they know to see the virtues as well as the business, has made me learn a lot of our wines and the Hispanobodegas project”.
From D.O.5 Hispanobodegas we are very happy with this trip and grateful with all the people that were with Emma sharing this expience and with her, for making possible this beautiful adventure.
