This new puntuation means the recognition for the quality of the wine, which has been able to surpass the 90 points in its latest vintages (2013, 2012 and 2011). Valdelacierva Crianza, staying true to its style and personality, has achieved belonging to the list of reference wines in quality and good making that the magazine does each year. Wine Spectator, one of the most important reference publishers in the wine quality assessment in the United States of America has punctuated to Valdelacierva in its three latest vintages: Valdelacierva 2011 with 91 points; Valdelacierva 2012 with 90 points and Valdelacierva Crianza 2013 with 90 points.
The history of Valdelacierva is the result of a young team work with experience making quality wines with a clearly defined goal: wines with the characteristic personality from the plot which defines the genuineness of Valdelacierva wines.
The Wine Spectator journalist Thomas Matthews defines Valdelacierva Crianza 2013 as “Sleek and lively, this energetic red delivers tart cherry, licorice, fresh herb, mineral and smoky flavors, driven by racy acidity and supported by light, firm tannins. Not assertive, but balanced and lively”.

Founded in 1988, Bodegas Valdelacierva belongs to Hispanobodegas Group which owns wineries in the three most important Appellations in the country: Rioja, Ribera Del Duero, and Rueda. Valdelacierva is located in the heart of Rioja Alta (Navarrete) and it has 125 hectares of vineyards, which are divided in small plots with vines that are between 25-130 years old. The winery has a young and dynamic character and it is inclined towards the elaboration of modern wines, with the seal of the land and the Tempranillo grape variety as protagonists. The wines come from selected vineyards of the localities of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Briones, Baños de Ebro and Yécora.
